The Accounting Manager will oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the agency, ensuring accurate financial reporting, budget management, and compliance with accounting standards. This role requires someone who understands the nuances of project-based revenue, client billing, and expense tracking in a creative services environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee daily operations of the accounting department including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports
• Lead the monthly close process and ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial data
• Collaborate with project managers and client services teams to track project budgets, profitability, and billings
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff
• Manage client billing cycles, ensure timely invoicing and collections
• Monitor cash flow and provide forecasts to senior leadership
• Assist in developing and monitoring annual budgets and forecasts
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable tax regulations
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax professionals
• Recommend and implement process improvements and financial controls
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred)
• 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role
• Experience in the advertising, marketing, media, or related project-based industry strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar), and Microsoft Excel
• Familiarity with project management and billing tools commonly used in creative agencies (e.g., Workamajig, Function Point, or similar)
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
