Overview Of The Accounting Manager Role

• Lead financial planning and reporting, including GAAP-compliant statements and budget forecasting
• Oversee accounting operations: general ledger, reconciliations, tuition receivables, and payroll journal entries
• Support annual audit preparation, tax compliance (1099s, 1095s), and financial modeling for tuition and compensation
• Partner with HR on payroll, benefits, onboarding, PTO tracking, and 403(b) retirement administration
• Collaborate on risk management, insurance renewals, and third-party financial reviews

Salary And Benefits

• Salary: $75,000–$85,000/year + robust benefits

Required And Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or Master’s preferred
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience (nonprofit or independent school experience ideal)
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office; Veracross experience a plus
• Professionalism, attention to detail, and a mission-driven mindset

Base pay range

$75,000.00/yr - $85,000.00/yr
