Overview

A well-established law firm is seeking a skilled Legal Secretary to provide direct support to an attorney focused on commercial real estate closings. This role requires a high degree of accuracy, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage fast-paced deadlines. The position involves extensive transcription, preparation of legal documents, and coordination with clients, lenders, and title companies to ensure smooth and timely closings.

Position is full time, on site in Louisville, KY. Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, paid time off, retirement plan and more. Salary range: $55,000-$60,000.

Responsibilities

  • Perform extensive transcription of correspondence, contracts, closing documents, and other legal materials.
  • Draft, edit, and proofread legal documents, real estate contracts, closing binders, and letters.
  • Coordinate and schedule commercial real estate closings, including preparing closing checklists and final settlement documents.
  • Maintain and organize case files, both electronic and paper.
  • Communicate with clients, lenders, brokers, and title companies regarding closing requirements.
  • Manage attorney calendar, schedule meetings, and coordinate deadlines.
  • Perform e-filings, document indexing, and general administrative support.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3+ years of legal secretary experience, preferably in commercial real estate or transactional law.
  • Strong transcription skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience coordinating real estate closings is highly preferred.
