Overview
Anti-Hate Program Manager (Asian American Advocacy, Policy) at Asian Americans Advancing Justice | AAJC. This role supports the Director of Anti-Hate Program in developing and implementing AAJC’s Anti-Hate Program, focusing on anti-Asian hate and broader racial justice issues. The Manager will coordinate rapid-response efforts, work with community partners, and lead community education, field outreach, research, and communications.
Responsibilities
- Organizational Leadership and Strategic Planning: act as a thought partner to the Director of Anti-Hate Program and VP of Strategic Initiatives to support and implement the programmatic agenda; work with policy leads and staff to implement anti-hate strategies, goals, and solutions; coordinate with local partner grantees, affiliates, and coalition partners on the anti-hate program; collaborate to advance new ideas that align with the organizational mission and programmatic plan.
- Program Implementation: support and implement the programmatic agenda and ideas that align with AAJC’s mission, strategic plan, and policy goals, including legislative and administrative advocacy at federal level (and potentially state/local levels); data collection and analysis related to anti-Asian hate; coordinating resources and referrals; leading bystander intervention and community education trainings; communications support for materials and media engagement.
- Partnerships and Outreach: coordinate translation, production, and dissemination of community education materials; manage community partner subgrants; develop metrics to evaluate outreach and policy efforts; project manage cross-stakeholder collaborations.
- Fundraising and General AAJC Roles: support fundraising activities, grants development and management, donor communications; uphold AAJC values and policies; participate in decision-making and travel as needed; may require occasional evenings and weekends.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; Master’s Degree, JD, or PhD preferred.
- At least four years of relevant experience in legal services, social work, policy advocacy, communications, campaigns, polling, research, or field organizing.
- Project management experience; knowledge of South Asian and/or Asian American civil and human rights issues preferred.
- Strong strategic thinking, collaboration, and coalition-building abilities; excellent writing and communication skills; ability to translate policy into accessible language.

Location and Working Arrangements
Location: Washington, D.C. This position is full-time, exempt, 40 hours/week. Flexible work-from-home options available. This position is included in a union-represented collective bargaining unit; terms subject to collective bargaining.
Compensation
Salary: $65,000-$80,000
