Our Senior Account Executives are trusted advisors, skilled storytellers, and sharp strategists. On our Cybersecurity team, you’ll partner with leading-edge brands at the forefront of global security innovation—working across threat intelligence, cloud security, incident response, identity, and beyond. You bring 3–5 years of public relations experience in an agency environment, with direct experience in the cybersecurity industry.
What You’ll Do
- Media & Influencer Relations
- Lead media strategy and execution for cybersecurity clients, with strong existing relationships across 10+ reporters
- Craft and deliver proactive pitches that generate high-quality media coverage and thought leadership
- Identify new media trends, outlets, and journalists relevant to security and share insights across the agency
- Drive influencer engagement, content campaigns, and amplification strategies across digital and social platforms
- Use social channels to boost client visibility and executive voice
- Measure and communicate the ROI of PR programs using analytics to optimize initiatives
- Coach junior staff on cybersecurity-specific media strategies
- Client Service & Program Management
- Own tactical execution of cybersecurity-focused PR elements (media relations, analyst engagement, thought leadership, speaking, content)
- Lead weekly client calls and provide strategic counsel
- Manage projects from kickoff through execution
- Develop quarterly cybersecurity campaign plans
- Monitor threat landscape and regulatory developments to identify timely commentary opportunities
- Support client media training and message development
- Help develop budgets and allocate team resources
- Writing & Content Development
- Write and edit cybersecurity-focused content (thought leadership, press releases, contributed pieces)
- Prepare speaking abstracts, award nominations, and analyst briefings
- Create media pitches, briefing books, backgrounders, and internal client materials
- Ensure content reflects technical accuracy and journalistic relevance
- Create timely, relatable narratives for media and business audiences
- Insights, Analytics & Integration
- Lead results reporting and campaign measurement, articulating outcomes and PR value
- Leverage data to refine cybersecurity campaign strategies
- Collaborate across teams for integrated service delivery
- Adopt AI tools to support campaign precision and speed
- Mentorship & Collaboration
- Mentor junior staff and help them build cybersecurity knowledge and media skills
- Foster an inclusive, high-performing team culture
- Lead by example through proactive collaboration
- Agency Engagement & Operations
- Contribute to new business initiatives and participate in pitches
- Write for Highwire’s blog and engage with agency social channels
- Attend security conferences and networking events
- Suggest ideas to improve agency culture, workflows, and growth
- Professional Growth & Self-Development
- Set quarterly goals with your manager and prioritize to meet client goals
- Work independently with minimal oversight and seek feedback for continuous improvement
- Stay updated on cybersecurity news and media trends
What You Bring: 3–5 years of PR/communications experience in an agency setting (required); direct cybersecurity client experience; strong media relationships across tech, business, and security trades; ability to translate complex cybersecurity topics into compelling narratives; excellent writing and editing; client communications and deliverables management; analytics proficiency; collaborative, client-first mindset.
