Ponte Family Estate Winery opened in 2003 and is a California based company operating in the heart of the Temecula Wine Country. We have been farming our vineyards since 1984 and are a real working winery, growing and producing over 20 estate grown varietals within certified sustainable facilities.

We are located right next to our Four Diamond, 90 room, boutique hotel Ponte Vineyard Inn, and are surrounded by 300 acres of mature vineyards and views of rolling hills. We are a short drive from most of Southern California and enjoy hosting folks who want a break from city life. Our guests visit us seeking a relaxing day or overnight stay in the country.

Summary:

The Supervisor will supervise in the daily operations and the overall dining experience of the restaurant while following Ponte’s values and standards. To ensure the quality of service, food and beverages exceed our guest’s expectations. Support management in protecting the assets of the company in cost controls and inventory. This is to be handled in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner resulting in a very high level of guest and associate satisfaction.

Compensation: $25.00 hourly - $26.00 hourly DOE

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the quality of food and beverages to ensure guest satisfaction. Ensure food quality is consistent, appealing, and prepared to Chef’s specifications. Interacts with guests and is able to handle challenging situations as they arise.
  • Control cash and other receipts by adhering to proper cash handling and reconciliation procedures in accordance to company guidelines. Process end of night reports, reconcile monies, and input data on daily reports.
  • Ensure required breaks and meal periods are being followed daily. Maintain daily work schedules, time & attendance; edits, payroll, labor reports and tip sheets.
  • Knowledgeable on menu items to inform guests and make suggestions accordingly.
  • Take and process orders in micros with detailed information and special preps.
  • Maintain an organized work environment and overall cleanliness of the restaurant.
  • Understand and comply with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations pertaining to the health, safety and labor requirements of associates and guests.
  • Assist with all safety and sanitation regulations by county requirements are compliant, including environmental standards set by the winery.
  • To maintain safe work areas and ensure the safety of our associates and guests.

Knowledge, Skills and Ability:

  • Any combination of experience, training or education that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Must have knowledge of food, beverages, wines, spirits, service standards, proper etiquette and guests’ relations.
  • The ability to treat all associates and guests in a respectful manner.
  • Exhibits integrity; honesty and truthfulness.
  • Excellent communication skills, and skillfully handles challenging guest situations.
  • Must have prior serving experience in a similar high-volume environment.
  • Ability to transport large trays weighing up to 40 lbs. through a crowded patio.
  • Ability to operate procedures in Micros, Open Table, Microsoft word and Excel.
  • Regular attendance is essential to the successful performance of this position.
  • Must be able to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the winery.
  • Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
  • Must have exceptional grooming standards consistent with company guidelines.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Must have the ability to obtain a Riverside County food handlers’ card, and alcoholic beverage service certification; L.E.A.D. or T.I.P.S.

Supportive Functions:

  • Assist in seating, serving, bussing, expediting, food running and bartending.
  • Ensure that all assigned side work and restocking is completed.
  • Report and complete incident reports involving guests and associates.
  • Respond to guests’ inquiries regarding reservations and parties.
  • Placing orders for supplies and beverages.
  • Ensure service equipment is in proper working order, place work orders and/or service calls for required repairs and maintenance.
