Overview
Permanent Full Time - Benefits. Work is mostly outside in county parks and buildings. Primary duties include custodial and janitorial tasks to maintain cleanliness of Manatee County Parks and Beaches. Work location: 2653 Gulf Dr. S., Bradenton Beach, FL 34217. Work hours: Friday - Tuesday, 6:00am - 2:30pm. Base pay range: $15.45/hr - $19.31/hr.
Responsibilities
- Perform custodial duties to maintain cleanliness of assigned County offices, buildings, parks, and amenities.
- Trash pickup and removal; sweeping, mopping, vacuuming; cleaning restrooms; cleaning windows and fixtures; restocking supplies; and maintaining custodial closets.
- Identify maintenance concerns and direct to maintenance department and supervisor; provide prompt and courteous service to coworkers and the public.
- Assist with major cleaning operations (e.g., floor stripping) and basic repairs as needed; may drive light-duty trash trucks.
- Set up displays or conference rooms and, when needed, act in a lead capacity to train or guide others in proper equipment use and maintenance.
- Adhere to safety procedures and cleaning product instructions; work with chemicals/solvents; operate related cleaning equipment.
Qualifications
- Ability to read and write; ability to understand and follow instructions.
- Knowledge of cleaning processes, supplies, equipment, and safety precautions; ability to read cleaning product labels.
- Experience in janitorial or custodial work is highly desired (at least 1 year).
- Valid Florida driver's license required; must obtain within 30 days of hire.
- Known ability to work with others and potentially train or supervise others.
- Must be eligible for access to secured areas as required by policy; background considerations may apply.
