Responsibilities
- An Executive Sales Account Manager in the welding and industrial gases sector manages and grows key client relationships and is the primary point of contact for strategic accounts, driving revenue growth by understanding customer needs and providing comprehensive solutions across welding processes, industrial gases (including bulk and cylinder), and welding hard goods (equipment, consumables, safety gear).
- Identifies business ideas and opportunities by researching industry and related events; tracks contributors and accomplishments; screens potential deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluates options; resolves internal priorities.
- Actively pursues and acquires new and competitive accounts with emphasis on metal fabrication business and product sale agreements.
- Develops and negotiates contracts, integrating requirements with business operations. Submits sales activity reports (via Salesforce), including weekly itineraries and other reports as requested, to the Regional President on a regular schedule.
- Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads from various sources.
- Develops negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of new business with company strategies and operations, examining potential risks and estimating customers’ needs and goals.
- Demonstrates products to customers and emphasizes features. Acts as liaison between customer and company regarding pricing, products, delivery information, payments, service, and inquiries.
- Enhances the organization’s reputation by taking ownership for new requests and exploring opportunities to add value to the customer experience.
- Submits month-end reports, expense reports, mileage reports, etc., accurately and in a timely manner.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading industry publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations.
- Works safely and meets the requirements of all safety procedures and rules as prescribed by State, Federal, and the Company.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (required): Business Administration, Sales & Marketing, Engineering (especially Mechanical, Industrial, or Welding Engineering), or related technical field.
Technical Expertise
This role demands technical proficiency in:
- Welding Processes: SMAW, GMAW/MIG, GTAW/TIG, FCAW, SAW; Cutting Processes: Plasma, Oxy-Fuel, Laser; Robotic and Automated Welding; Welding Metallurgy basics.
- Industrial Gases: Common gases (Argon, CO2, Oxygen, Acetylene, Nitrogen, Hydrogen, Helium) and gas mixtures; Gas applications and gas delivery systems (bulk tanks, cryogenic vessels, cylinder manifolds, regulators); Safety protocols for gas handling and storage.
- Hard Goods: Welding machines, consumables (electrodes, filler metals, flux), safety equipment (PPE), welding accessories.
Automation & Robotics: Familiarity with robotic welding cells, positioners, and other automated solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree (preferred): MBA or a Master’s in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Certifications (beneficial): AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), Certified Sales Professional (CSP), or other industry certifications.
