Responsibilities

  • Executive Sales Account Manager in welding and industrial gases: manage and grow key client relationships; primary point of contact for strategic accounts; drive revenue growth by understanding customer needs and providing comprehensive solutions across welding processes, industrial gases (including bulk and cylinder), and welding hard goods (equipment, consumables, safety gear).
  • Identify business ideas and opportunities by researching industry events, publications, announcements; screen potential deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; resolve internal priorities.
  • Acquire new and competitive accounts focusing on metal fabrication business and product sale agreements.
  • Develop and negotiate contracts; submit sales activity reports (via Salesforce) including weekly itineraries and other reports to the Regional President.
  • Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads.
  • Develop negotiating strategies by studying integration of new business with company strategies and operations, assessing risks and customer needs.
  • Demonstrate products to customers; liaise between customer and company regarding pricing, delivery, payments, service and inquiries.
  • Contribute to improving customer experience and complete required administrative tasks (e.g., month-end and expense reports).
  • Maintain knowledge through education, industry publications, networks, and professional organizations; adhere to safety procedures and rules.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (required): Business Administration, Sales & Marketing, Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or Welding), or related technical field.

Technical Expertise

This role requires technical proficiency in:

  • Welding Processes: SMAW, GMAW/MIG, GTAW/TIG, FCAW, SAW.
  • Cutting Processes: Plasma, Oxy-Fuel, Laser.
  • Robotic and Automated Welding: understanding of automation principles and applications in welding.
  • Welding Metallurgy: basic understanding of metal responses to welding and weldment properties.
  • Industrial Gases: common gases (Argon, CO2, Oxygen, Acetylene, Nitrogen, Hydrogen, Helium) and mixtures; gas delivery systems (bulk tanks, cryogenic vessels, cylinder manifolds, regulators); safety protocols.
  • Hard Goods (Welding Equipment & Consumables): welding machines, electrodes, filler metals, PPE, torches/guns, cables, clamps, nozzles, flowmeters.
  • Automation & Robotics: familiarity with robotic welding cells and related solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree (preferred): MBA or Master’s in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Certifications (beneficial): AWS CWI, CSP, or other industry certifications.
