Position Summary
The Robot Operator Level 1’s role is to set up and operate a robotic welder to meet or exceed customer specs by reading blueprints, create parts and assemblies that meet or exceed customer and productivity requirements. They are highly motivated and have a desire to work in a fast paced, quality centered environment. This role is vital to ensuring our customers’ needs are consistently met, promoting our company’s continued strong national growth.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Internal Relationships: All Departments
External Relationships: Occasional and incidental contact with customers or prospective customers

Primary Responsibilities
- Locate and ensure correct material is delivered to work center
- Learn and apply Robot procedures
- Learn to implement safety policies and procedures
- Learn to follow a WPS
- Assist higher level robot operators and receive hands-on experience and training
- Ensure machine is working properly
- Ensure appropriate nesting program is delivered to work center
- Ensure nesting program matches print with work order
- Ensure that the correct gas, speed and consumables are applied correctly
- Accurately project completion of work orders at work center
- Ensure jobs are staged correctly after completion
- Other duties assigned
Minimum Requirements
- Welding knowledge and/or welding employment experience
- Knowledge of 6S
- Demonstrated punctual and dependable performance
- Previous experience working in industrial manufacturing industry preferred
Environment/Physical Requirements
This position is carried out in a fabrication shop environment and as such has the following physical work requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 100lbs
- Must be able to position welding apparatus in any position the work required
- Position requires ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Position may require bending, kneeling, and stooping
- Exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, and chemicals
Physical weld testing on site must be acceptable.
