POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for officiating matches and supervising participants in sports leagues.

GENERAL WORK SCHEDULE:

Evenings and weekends. Positions are available at the Southtowns Y and the Independent Health Y.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Officiates matches for sports leagues.
• Supervises participants and controls the games. Always ensures safe play and sportsmanlike conduct.
• Provides leadership and seeks to resolve conflicts. Communicates effectively with participants, parents, and staff.
• Responsible for the set-up and breakdown of equipment. Maintains equipment and reports problems to the supervisor.
• Follows department protocol to clean and disinfect commonly used surfaces. Maintains the cleanliness and organization of program/work areas.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Certified Official or experience officiating sports league matches.
• Current knowledge of rules and able to modify rules to accommodate recreational leagues.
