Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including reviewing medical history and vital signs.
- Perform dental cleanings, scaling, and root planing using appropriate techniques.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental visits.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality.
- Assist in pediatric dentistry by providing care tailored to younger patients.
- Implement aseptic techniques to ensure a safe treatment environment.
- Collaborate with the dental team to enhance overall patient care and clinic efficiency.
- Stay updated on dental terminology, infection control practices, and medical coding.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a dental office or clinic setting is preferred.
- Proficient in medical imaging procedures relevant to dental care.
- Strong understanding of anatomy knowledge related to oral health.
- Ability to perform documentation review accurately for medical records.
- Experience in pediatric dentistry is a plus, with an emphasis on patient comfort for children.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient education and care.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of infection control within the practice.
- Certification as a Dental Hygienist from an accredited program is required.
