OBGYN RN Job Details – Ottawa, IL

• Location: Ottawa, IL 61350 (Illinois healthcare jobs)
• Facility Setting: OBGYN Unit (14 beds, 11 nursery beds)
• Assignment Type: Locum tenens / Travel Registered Nurse contract
• Start Date: September 15, 2025
• End Date: December 15, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7p-7a), every other weekend required
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week (orientation hours not guaranteed)
• Orientation: 12 hours of hospital and OBGYN unit-specific training
• Pay Rate: $110.00 - $120.00 per hour
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2,470 - $2,540

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least 1 year of recent OBGYN nursing experience
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification – American Heart Association
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – AHA
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and every other weekend
• Compliance with drug-free workplace policy and ability to pass a drug screening
• Professionalism and adaptability for potential floating to other units

OBGYN RN Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive OBGYN nursing care for patients with preeclampsia, manage patients on Magnesium, and support laboring mothers
• Provide postpartum and newborn care, including the ability to deliver a baby if necessary
• Utilize Obix central fetal monitoring and Epic (Stork) for electronic charting and medication administration
• Follow AWHONN staffing guidelines for nurse-to-patient ratios
• Participate in 12-hour orientation and ongoing clinical education
• Maintain a professional appearance (scrubs required)
• Demonstrate flexibility with floating requirements as needed during the assignment
