  • Location: Boston, MA 02115 (Longwood Medical Area)
  • Employment Type: Locum tenens, Travel Nursing Assignment
  • Healthcare Setting: Pediatric Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU), Level III/IV NICU, Level I Trauma Center
  • Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 11/16/2025 – End: 2/15/2026)
  • Shifts: 3x12-hour rotating shifts (Day: 7:00am–7:30pm / Night: 7:00pm–7:30am); 50/50 day/night rotation or straight nights available
  • Hours per Week: 36
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • Estimated Weekly Salary: $2200–$2360
  • Parking: Discounted day passes and free night shift parking with shuttle service
  • Charting System: EPIC
  • Scrub Color: Any solid color (OR-provided)

Qualifications

  • Active, permanent Registered Nurse (RN) license (required)
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Pediatric ICU (PICU) nursing experience
  • Critical care nursing skills, including ventilator management
  • BLS and PALS certifications (required for pediatric healthcare jobs)
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
  • Ability to float to other critical care units: PICU, NICU, MSICU, CICU
  • Two professional references from two of the last three employers (different healthcare facilities)

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to pediatric patients in the MICU
  • Manage ventilators and perform advanced pediatric critical care interventions
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support complex pediatric cases
  • Float to other critical care units (PICU, NICU, MSICU, CICU) as needed
  • Care for patients with diverse diagnoses: neurology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, oncology, respiratory, congenital diaphragmatic hernia, esophageal atresia, trauma, and complex pediatric conditions
  • Document patient care using the EPIC electronic health record system
  • Participate in day/night rotation and weekend coverage as scheduled
