Clinical Research Nurse Job Details

  • Location: Boston, MA 02118 – Work in a renowned medical and research community in Massachusetts.
  • Employment Type: Locum tenens (Travel/Contract Registered Nurse)
  • Healthcare Setting: Outpatient Clinic – Cancer Clinical Trials Program
  • Start Date: September 22, 2025
  • End Date: December 20, 2025
  • Contract Duration: 13 weeks
  • Shift: 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday; flexible start times as early as 7:00 AM
  • Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Estimated Weekly Salary: $2870-$2950

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
  • Active and unrestricted RN license in Massachusetts
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification
  • 3-5 years of clinical research nurse or research nursing experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and web browsers; REDCap database experience preferred
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to clinical research compliance standards
  • Preferred: Experience with grant writing, IRB submissions, data management, and study coordination
  • Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and ability to work with diverse patient populations

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct clinical care and support for patients enrolled in cancer clinical trials
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to identify eligible patients and review informed consent forms
  • Conduct study visits, monitor protocol compliance, and ensure accurate clinical documentation
  • Assist with patient recruitment, registration, and scheduling for laboratory and radiographic assessments
  • Coordinate with research coordinators, regulatory staff, and clinical teams to facilitate trial activation and patient care
  • Deliver protocol education to patients and families, adapting communication for diverse needs
  • Order and monitor laboratory specimens and test results; administer medications as required
  • Maintain evidence-based nursing practice and adhere to all regulatory, safety, and compliance standards
  • Participate in professional development, committee work, and preparation of research reports and presentations
