ER RN Job Details – Boston, MA

• Job Title: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) – Locum Tenens
• Location: Boston, MA 02118 (Massachusetts nursing jobs)
• Employment Type: Locum tenens (travel nurse contract)
• Healthcare Setting: Emergency Department (ED), Level I/II trauma center
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 10/20/2025 – End: 1/17/2026)
• Shifts: 12-hour night shifts (rotating: 7p-7:30a, 11p-11:30a, 3a-3:30p)
• Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
• Weekend/Holiday Rotation: Every other weekend and holiday required
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2,270 - $2,330 per week

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active and unexpired Registered Nurse (RN) license (Massachusetts RN license preferred)
• Minimum 1.5 years of recent Level I or II Emergency Department experience or 2+ years of recent Level III/IV ED experience
• Current certifications: TNCC, BLS, ACLS (required for ER nursing jobs)
• Ability to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips and identify heart blocks (must pass Telemetry Test on Day 1 with 85%+)
• Flexibility to float to Psychiatric ED and Pediatric ED (caring for age 15+ patients in pedi unless previous pediatric experience)
• Preferred: EPIC EMR experience, previous travel nurse assignments, critical care nursing experience

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate care to patients in a busy emergency department with up to 120 treatment areas serving 350-440 patients daily
• Manage a patient ratio of 1:4-5, depending on acuity
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Float to Psychiatric ED and Pediatric ED as needed
• Maintain flexibility to work all three designated shifts per unit needs
• Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards
• Note: Locum tenens RNs will not be assigned to trauma rooms during this contract
