Position Summary

The Housekeeping Manager supervises and trains three shifts of Housekeepers, maintains a 165,000 sq. ft. facility, tracks and maintains maintenance inventory and budget, develops equipment-purchase proposals, and monitors daily facility conditions to determine work needs. Responsibilities include prioritizing jobs, scheduling major projects, reviewing invoices for accuracy, ensuring the Union Facility is opened (Monday through Friday), measuring and evaluating work processes, recruiting and supervising staff (including a student housekeeping team of up to 14), and ensuring compliance with HR policies.

Minimum Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalency and one year of experience in the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Some positions may require certification or eligibility for certification.

Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

  • Demonstrates strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated abilities in full-time staff supervision.
  • Ability to work as part of a team to assess structural deficiencies and implement effective organizational solutions.
  • Previous experience supervising full-time or part-time staff.
  • Possess a valid NC driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including needs assessment and satisfaction evaluation.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles related to strategic planning, resource allocation, HR modeling, leadership, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Experience working with English as a Second Language (ESL) staff.

Licenses/Certifications

Possess valid NC driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Special Physical/Mental Requirements

Ability to move 50+ pounds, with or without accommodation.

Valid NC Driver’s License applicable.
