Role: Maintenance Technician - Food Manufacturing

Location: Cincinnati, Ohio 45246
Shift: 3rd Shift / Night (9pm – 7am)

Pay Rate: $28-$33/hour

Schedule: 10-hr shift (4-3) weekends included

Sign-on bonus: $500 (paid after 91 days)

All compensation is subject to applicable taxes.

Job Summary

As a Maintenance Technician, you will maintain the excellence of our SQF-certified food manufacturing facility. You will install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment, provide technical support to the production team, and lead self-directed improvement projects. This role reports to the Maintenance Shift Supervisor and supports a facility that operates 24 hours a day, 5 days a week.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair equipment; verify and test repairs for quality and accuracy.
  • Utilize electronic equipment and software (PC, phone, email, CMMS, etc.).
  • Maintain facility and equipment across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Keep a clean and organized work area.
  • Identify issues and opportunities for improvement; document in CMMS (e.g., create Work Orders).
  • Comply with work, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and update records (Work Orders, PMs, call logs, shift reports, parts, labor, notes, photos, status changes).
  • Stay self-motivated and able to work independently while collaborating with the team.
  • Maintain positive relationships with all departments and communicate across shifts.
  • Wear PPE and follow GMPs indoors and outdoors.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 3 years of manufacturing experience; food processing equipment experience desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency in pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, and industrial skills; experience with PLCs and VFDs.
  • Strong work ethic and attendance record; ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.
  • Valid driver's license; ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent changes on the production line.

Physical Requirements

  • Normal manufacturing conditions; ability to work in a warehouse with wide temperature ranges.
  • Excellent hand/eye coordination; ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally above shoulder height.
  • Ability to work around flashing lights, horns, and moving equipment; ability to climb ladders and maneuver in confined spaces.
  • Welding skills (MIG - Steel, TIG – Steel/Aluminum) are preferred.
  • Ability to safely maintain x-ray and metal detection equipment and work in high voltage areas with appropriate PPE.
