Starting Base Salary: $19 per hour, plus $1.50 shift differential

Shift: 3rd shift 10pm-6:30am Monday through Friday (weekends based on business need)

Duties and Responsibilities

The Quality Technician at Cornerstone Building Brands Aperture Solutions is responsible for monitoring, inspecting, and reporting on the quality of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products in accordance with company standards and customer specifications. This role supports continuous improvement efforts and ensures that products meet safety, performance, and appearance expectations before being shipped to customers.

  • Inspect incoming raw materials (glass, vinyl, hardware, etc.) for conformance to specifications
  • Conduct in-process inspections on window frames, sashes, glass units, and completed windows
  • Perform final inspections and document any quality defects prior to shipment
  • Maintain accurate and detailed inspection records, including quality checklists, test data, and deviation reports
  • Assist in root cause analysis and corrective action investigations for non-conforming products
  • Work with production staff to ensure quality standards are understood and followed
  • Calibrate and maintain inspection tools and testing equipment
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and communicate findings to leadership
  • Support audits (internal, customer, or third-party) by providing documentation and data as needed
  • Enforce compliance with safety and quality standards in accordance with ISO or other applicable certifications

Qualifications

  • Ability to read tape measures and interpret fractions and decimals
  • Ability to read at least minimum word and number recognition/visual cues
  • Understanding of quality concepts and CTQ (Critical to Quality) requirements
  • Effective communication by actively listening, explaining clearly and accurately, asking questions, and sharing important information
  • Experience with in-process and final inspections of window-related products
  • Ability to maintain accurate inspection records and documentation
  • Experience supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions for non-conforming products
  • Ability to work with production staff to ensure understanding and adherence to quality standards
  • Experience calibrating and maintaining inspection tools and testing equipment
  • Experience supporting audits (internal, customer, or third-party) with documentation and data
  • Commitment to safety and quality standards in line with ISO or other applicable certifications
