As a Production Supervisor at Ditsch USA Northland location, you will be responsible for eliminating waste across the supply chain from start to finish for the product family, and for ensuring a quality product in a safe and cost‑effective manner that meets the production schedule and cost specifications while complying with safety rules, GMPs, and Food Safety and Quality standards. The Supervisor will create an environment where employees feel valued, challenged, and empowered by evaluating performance and potential and providing coaching. The role will analyze production performance and implement process improvements to minimize downtime, reduce material and labor requirements, and lower overall cost while maintaining a continuous improvement environment. You will operate end‑to‑end with approximately 40+ people on average and an expectation of a 40‑hour work week with 24/7 escalation availability.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe work environment following company policies and regulations; lead with a behavior‑based safety mindset.
  • Utilize Job Safety Analysis (JSAs) and Risk Assessments to mitigate and prevent injuries or incidents; conduct root cause analysis and implement countermeasures for all incidents.
  • Inform appropriate departments of major production issues and participate in resolution.
  • Collaborate with Safety, Quality, Planning, Maintenance, Sales & Marketing, and Supply Chain to maintain production efficiency and on‑time delivery.
  • Develop and utilize performance goals aligned with plant and company expectations and vision.
  • Maintain budget requirements for labor, training, and materials.
  • Execute troubleshooting and regular evaluation of processes for enhancement across end‑to‑end ownership.
  • Ensure the team is staffed, trained, resourced, supplied, and managed to attain strategic objectives.
  • Execute Standard Work, develop SOPs and Work Instructions for Operations within end‑to‑end ownership.
  • Apply root cause solving procedures to all functions and implement countermeasures related to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
  • Use tools and procedures to minimize process variation to ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Participate in and drive process improvements across Safety, Quality, Planning, Maintenance/Engineering, Sales & Marketing, and Supply Chain.
  • Establish and execute end‑to‑end standards and audits.
  • Own all GMPs and complete required documentation.

Competencies, Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Thorough knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, and OSHA regulations.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills for coaching and developing employees; including disciplinary actions.
  • Leads by example with consistent enforcement of company policies.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and drive change management.
  • Basic understanding of production equipment and processes with technical ability for troubleshooting and maintaining equipment.

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s or associate degree or equivalent education/experience.
  • Supervisor experience in a manufacturing environment, 5+ years preferred.
  • Lean, Six Sigma certifications a plus.

Compensation and Additional Information

Compensation Range: $70,000 – $85,000. The company will determine pay based on relevant experience and qualifications. A comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for growth and development are provided.
