POSITION SUMMARY

The Reach Forklift Operator operates reach trucks to move, locate, and stack merchandise safely and efficiently, adhering to safety, security, and productivity standards. As part of the DSV team, employees are expected to meet performance, safety, quality, and teamwork objectives and comply with all policies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Receiving/Put-Away: Input data into WMS, stack/store products, maintain organized work areas.
2. Order Picking: Prepare products for shipment, ensure accuracy, and meet customer service standards.
3. Quality: Ensure shipments are damage-free, report variances, support safety and continuous improvement initiatives.
4. Delivery: Move products to staging or production areas, maintain documentation, assist in inventories, ensure proper stock rotation.
5. Safety, Housekeeping, and Compliance: Keep the work environment safe and clean, follow safety and OSHA standards.
6. Equipment Operation: Operate reach forklifts and other equipment safely, inspect equipment daily, maintain certification.
7. Maintenance: Assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as needed.
8. Other Duties: Participate in inventories, labeling, packing, and other tasks; work overtime as required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED.
• 6 months experience in logistics/distribution.
• Ability to operate stand-up reach trucks and work in varying warehouse temperatures.
• Satisfactory completion of forklift training and certification.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

• English proficiency (reading, writing, speaking).
• Basic to intermediate math skills.
• Attention to detail, ability to work independently, adapt to change, and perform in a fast-paced environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 1-2 years experience in warehouse/logistics and forklift operation.
• Current MHE certification.
• Experience with electric pallet jacks and dock loaders.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Occasional bending; frequent walking and standing; ability to lift, carry, push, and pull, including reaching, squatting, and kneeling.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Minimal exposure to fumes, chemicals; noise level low to moderate.
