Job Details

  • Location: Woodruff, WI 54568 (Northern Wisconsin healthcare jobs)
  • Setting: Hospital – Med Surg Unit (float to all inpatient units as needed)
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks (locum tenens CNA position)
  • Start Date: September 29, 2025
  • Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), variable days/nights
  • Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed (except during holidays or orientation week)
  • Weekend/Holiday Rotation: Every other weekend and every other holiday
  • Float Requirement: May float to Eagle River, Tomahawk, Rhinelander locations (prescheduled as needed)
  • On Call: Possible during low census hours (with on-call pay)
  • Estimated Weekly Salary: $1010-$1090

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Active Wisconsin CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant license required)
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association)
  • Minimum 1 year of recent short-term acute care inpatient experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Epic charting experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to float to multiple hospital units and locations
  • Strong communication, adaptability, and teamwork skills

Responsibilities in Med Surg

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) in a clinical support role
  • Obtain and record vital signs and point-of-care blood glucose
  • Provide Foley care, bladder scans, and empty ostomy pouches
  • Remove peripheral IVs and assist with postmortem care
  • Perform occupied bed changes and provide 1:1 sitter care as needed
  • Operate lift equipment and assist with patient ambulation and mobility
  • Attach telemetry leads and monitor strict intake & output for drains
  • Support patients with behavioral health and withdrawal needs
  • Collaborate with nursing and ancillary staff to ensure optimal patient care
  • Maintain a positive attitude and flexibility in a dynamic hospital environment
