2:1 (days, nights, weekends) Weekend Coverage:

$1910-$2040 Registered Nurse Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Texas or compact state; must be in hand at submission) Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP Experience with Allscripts or Altera electronic charting systems preferred Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered) Ability to complete lab requirements within 72 hours of offer acceptance Travel nurses only: Local candidates not accepted (must reside outside 150-mile radius) Return travelers: Previous perm staff must be separated for 1 year before returning as a traveler Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in active labor, antepartum, and postpartum stages Assist with vaginal deliveries, Cesarean sections, and newborn assessments in a clinical setting Administer medications including anticoagulants, anticonvulsants, antihypertensives, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate therapy Monitor APGAR scores, fetal heart rate patterns, and perform non-stress tests Support breastfeeding and provide lactation education to new mothers Educate parents on discharge procedures, car seat safety, and newborn care best practices Utilize specialized equipment such as fetal monitors, Panda warmers, and Tot Guard Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Pharmacy, and Social Services Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to hospital protocols
