Lot Host Volunteer

Volunteer with Safe Parking LA as a Lot Host to serve as an initial point of contact for participants entering a safe parking site Why: By creating a welcoming, respectful environment and fostering community through engagement events, your presence directly supports participants' dignity, safety, and journey toward housing and self-sufficiency. Who: Safe Parking LA provides safe overnight parking to facilitate stability and housing in Los Angeles County for individuals living in their vehicles, and advocates for fair and equitable treatment and resources for the unhoused. What to Expect: Welcome Participants: Greet guests as they arrive, creating a safe and respectful environment from the start of the evening. Enhance Community Engagement: Plan and support recurring activities in coordination with Safe Parking LA staff. Maintain a Safe and Clean Space: Ensure the lot is tidy, address minor needs, and assist with basic setup or cleanup tasks. Act as a Liaison: Be a compassionate presence on-site, providing essential information and referring participants to staff for support need What's Required: Background Check Orientation or Training 6-month minimum commitment Recurring on a weekly basis, on a scheduled weeknight from 7:00 - 10:00 pm.
