For Industrial Electricians to support modifications in a nuclear power plant

Project requirements:

Responsibilities

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years working in nuclear power plants as an industrial Journeyman Electrician.
  • Certification: NCCER Industrial Electrician certification or equivalent experience.
  • Security: Must have had current Nuclear Security Clearance (Red Badge) within the last 364 days.
  • Education: High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Licensing: Must be able to pass an on-site industrial electrician proficiency test.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and take tests in English without an interpreter or accommodations per US nuclear requirement.

Qualifications

  • Journeyman Electrician with experience in new construction and maintenance modifications.
  • Installation/fabrication of conduit and supports.
  • Installation of copper and fiber cables; cable terminations and modifications.
  • Installation of power and control panels/switchgear.
  • Ability to use a multimeter (Live-Dead-Live).
  • Raychem splicing of low voltage.
  • Electrical safe work practices and clearance order verifications.
  • Temporary power installation; experience in nuclear power as a JM electrician is a plus.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and take tests in English without an interpreter.

Work Environment

The essential functions involve standing, walking, climbing, lifting, carrying, twisting, kneeling, stooping, bending and crouching as required. This position may require handling equipment weighing 1 to 100 lbs. Work may occur in adverse conditions such as confined spaces, high temperature areas, and elevated heights. The physical demands are medium to heavy. The employee may need to don appropriate PPE while navigating an industrial environment with varying protection levels.

Physical Demands

  • Visual acuity, balance, coordination, walking, manual dexterity, and hearing.
  • Climbing and ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to read complex documents in English and write complex documents in English.
  • Capacity to think, concentrate, and focus for long periods; ability to reason and make sound decisions.
  • Ability to express thoughts orally and to think strategically and develop plans for growth; ability to walk job site.
