The Verona Public School District, a high-achieving suburban district in Essex County, New Jersey, is seeking an exceptional educational leader to serve as School Business Administrator/Board Secretary. This is a key cabinet-level position responsible for the financial, business, and operational functions of a district with a $50 million budget, serving approximately 2,200 students across six schools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of school district finances, including budget development, accounting, payroll, purchasing, insurance, grants, and investments.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and reporting requirements.
- Supervise business office staff and operations, including transportation, food services, and facilities.
- Serve as Secretary to the Board of Education, coordinating with the Superintendent in the preparation of agendas, minutes, and official documents.
- Provide strategic financial leadership to support instructional priorities and long-term district goals.
- Collaborate with the Superintendent and administrative team on fiscal planning and resource allocation.
- Valid New Jersey School Business Administrator Certificate
- Demonstrated expertise in public school finance, budgeting, facilities management, and board operations
- Strong knowledge of NJDOE regulations, audit requirements, and school funding laws
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Prior experience as a School Business Administrator is preferred
