Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer
Job Description
The Electrical Design Engineer will work independently to create comprehensive hardware design packages for custom industrial web converting machinery. This role involves collaboration with Mechanical Engineering and Project Management teams to ensure the delivery of quality, functionality, and compliance with customer expectations. The engineer will also participate in code and compliance certifications, internal quality assurance inspections, and manage documentation, including archiving project reports.
Responsibilities
Design electrical and pneumatic panel schematics and create panel layout diagrams.
Incorporate details from work orders, engineering design reviews, and customer meetings into custom designed panels.
Conduct code and compliance reviews on all panels, including certifications such as UL508, UL698A, NEC, and SCCR panel ratings.
Perform quality assurance inspections and generate quality reports on electrical panels.
Collaborate with the Mechanical Engineering and Project Management teams to ensure quality, functionality, and compliance with customer expectations.
Essential Skills
Experience in electrical design, panel design, and industrial control panel design.
Familiarity with UL508 standard and machine design.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, with AutoCAD Electrical experience being a plus.
Understanding of UL508, UL698A, NEC, and Short Circuit Current Rating (SCCR) documentation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with pneumatic design is highly desirable.
Ability to conduct code and compliance certifications.
Experience in automation and hardware design.
Work Environment
The work environment is flexible, offering remote or hybrid work options with 50-75% of the time working from home. The role involves direct collaboration with other Electrical Design Engineers and interaction with Process Engineers and Controls Engineers. The company is transitioning from a small family-owned entity to a larger engineering firm, providing diverse opportunities for incorporating new technology and modernizing the technology portfolio.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00/hr.
