Job Details: The Department of Community Medicine at Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, Georgia is seeking a new faculty to join the Department. Rank will be determined based on the credentials of the selected candidate.
Responsibilities :
The Department of Community Medicine has for over 30 years, taught population health skills with MD students and supports a recently launched a Ph.D. program in Rural Health Sciences. Successful candidates will support the mission and vision of the medical school via research initiatives, provide advice on technical elements of ongoing projects, develop novel approaches and initiatives to improve healthcare. Successful candidates will support the medical school's research initiatives, advise on technical elements of ongoing projects, and develop novel approaches and initiatives that will improve healthcare. Candidates who can contribute to the creation of a comprehensive data platform are particularly encouraged to apply. The candidate will also teach in the School of Medicine's curriculum, including MD tutorials, Population Health, and/or the Ph.D. program. This is a tenure-track appointment.
Qualifications :
Candidates must: Hold a Ph.D. or DrPH in Epidemiology, Population Heath, Health Promotions, or a related clinical health field.
Have experience with extramural grant support, statistical design, and analysis.
The ideal candidate will have:
Experience using qualitative and quantitative methods and with linking and working with large datasets.
Familiarity with longitudinal data analysis.
Experience working as part of a team.
Ability to work well with others and design and supervise research projects, publish, and contribute to efforts to obtain extramural funding.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience presenting and communicating technical and statistical concepts to clinicians, policy makers, and lay audiences.
Familiarity and/or experience with rural health.
Experience teaching graduate or medical students
Selection of the final candidate is contingent on successful background check.
