will be at the financial helm of that journey.
Why This Controller Role Stands Out: As the
Controller , you'll be instrumental in designing and scaling the financial infrastructure needed to support the company's long-term objectives. From net lease retail assets to build-to-suit industrial projects, you'll oversee diverse investments and work directly with executive leadership to drive financial performance. Key Responsibilities of the Controller:
Lead and oversee all day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger, budgeting, forecasting, tax preparation, and compliance. Establish and refine scalable financial systems and internal controls to support the firm's growing real estate operations. Provide comprehensive financial reporting at both corporate and project levels, ensuring accuracy and strategic alignment. Collaborate with asset management and development teams to guide key financial decisions. Manage cash flow, capital structures, investor reporting, and fund administration. Recruit, mentor, and grow the internal accounting team to meet evolving business needs. Serve as a trusted advisor to the leadership team, contributing to overall financial strategy and execution. Ideal Qualifications for the Controller:
A minimum of 5-7 years of accounting leadership experience in real estate development, investment, or asset management. Proven expertise across financial operations including acquisitions, development, and asset oversight. CPA designation strongly preferred; public accounting background is a plus. Proactive, hands-on leadership style with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with property management and financial reporting software (Yardi, MRI, or similar).
