Overview

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Careers and Employability Adviser to join the Enterprise, Employability and Careers (EEC) team at Capital City College. This is a fixed term role with two London locations: Angel Centre (Oct 2025 – Jul 2026) and Kings Cross Centre (immediate start – Jul 2026). The post involves collaborating with the EEC Manager, curriculum teams, and external partners to design and deliver a careers programme that meets the Matrix Standard and Gatsby Benchmarks. You will provide one-to-one guidance, targeted group sessions, and lead activities such as careers fairs, employer masterclasses, and university visits. A key part of the role is helping learners build the skills and confidence for the workplace while championing widening participation.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver personalised careers guidance that empowers students to make informed, ambitious choices.
  • Design and coordinate engaging employability and enrichment activities to illustrate the world of work.
  • Work with a diverse learner community, including school leavers, adult returners, ESOL, and SEND needs.
  • Lead and participate in careers events, workshops, and university visits; deliver group sessions on HE pathways, apprenticeships, employability and enterprise.
  • Advise students on Student Finance and bursary options; develop digital and print resources to aid career planning.
  • Embed careers education within curriculum teams and contribute to CPD; use up-to-date Labour Market Information to inform guidance and teaching.
  • Monitor impact and contribute to continuous service improvement.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Ideally, a Level 6 qualification in Careers Guidance (or equivalent), or be working towards Level 6; experience in a similar educational role is preferred.
  • Clear communicator with strong interpersonal skills; able to build rapport with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Solid understanding of post-18 pathways including UCAS, apprenticeships and vocational routes.
