A Day in the Life
As a Medical Assistant in our Kosair for Kids Complex Care Center Division, you'll support Clinic Nurses and serve as a liaison between residents, parents or guardians, and specialty physicians. You'll coordinate on-site and off-site appointments, ensure seamless communication, and help our residents access the specialized care they need to thrive.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM -2:00 PM or 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM
How This Position Contributes to Our Mission
Assist Clinic Nurses with planning, scheduling, and coordinating on-site and off-site medical appointments and specialty clinics. Maintain strong working relationships with physicians, specialty providers, and medical offices to ensure smooth clinic operations. Gather and prepare all necessary medical history and information for scheduled appointments. Manage the specialty clinic and appointment calendar to support timely care coordination. Communicate and engage with families, Clinic Nurses, and the interdisciplinary team to align on care needs. Coordinate transportation to and from medical appointments in partnership with Support Services. Document updates in residents' medical records, including communication with parents, guardians, and specialty providers. Treat residents, families, and team members with dignity, respect, and confidentiality. Medical Assistant Skills and Qualifications
Unencumbered Certified Medical Assistant or State Registered Nurse Aide certification (required). Minimum 1 year of healthcare experience; medical office or clinic experience preferred. Current CPR / Basic Life Support certification (provided if not already held). Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to pass a Department of Transportation physical. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. What You'll Receive as a Valued Team Member
