Westaffed is seeking a skilled and compassionate Consultant Psychiatrist to join our esteemed mental health team. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive psychiatric assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans for patients with a wide range of mental health conditions, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, and substance use disorders. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure that each patient receives holistic and patient-centered care tailored to their needs. Responsibilities
Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations to assess mental health conditions and related histories. Formulate and implement personalized treatment plans, utilizing psychotherapy and pharmacotherapy as needed. Collaborate with psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated care. Engage in crisis management and intervention for acute psychiatric cases. Educate patients and families on mental health issues, treatment options, and self-care strategies. Participate in supervision, training, and mentorship of junior staff and medical trainees. Stay updated on advancements in psychiatry, treatment modalities, and mental health care practices. Requirements Medical degree (MD or equivalent) with specialization in Psychiatry. Valid medical license to practice in the state. Board certification in Psychiatry is preferred. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a psychiatric clinical setting required. Strong clinical skills in diagnosing and managing a variety of psychiatric disorders. Excellent communication abilities for effective patient interaction and collaboration. Commitment to ongoing education, quality improvement, and advocacy for mental health services.
