Function

The purpose of the class is to perform at an advanced professional level in the overall organizing, planning, development, implementation, and overseeing the day-to-day operation and function of School Programs (SAP). At multiple sites throughout Hampton City Schools, while ensuring that the established policies, procedures, educational activities, recreational activities, and safety procedures of the Hampton School Age Programs are administered.

Minimum Requirements

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in the related field. Considerable professional experience of three (3) years in child development, education, and recreational youth services. Any acceptable combination of experience and education, which qualifies the applicant for this particular position, may be considered for the more specific requirements outlined above. Must possess current American Red Cross First Aid Certificate, CPR certificate, and certification by the National Council on Therapeutic Recreation Certification within 6 months of employment. Must possess a valid driver's license issued have a satisfactory driver's record based on the City of Hampton's criteria. Must successfully pass a Child Protective Services Check and background checks related to the class. This position is safety sensitive and is subject to testing for alcohol and controlled substances in accordance with the City's current substance abuse policy. May be required to possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or must possess a Commercial Driver's License instruction permit and obtain the CDL within 90 days of employment.
