Function
The purpose of the class is to coordinate services for families with children who have developmental delays, medical needs, and/or have been diagnosed with conditions that lead to delays. The class works under limited supervision independently developing work methods and sequences.
Minimum Requirements
Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Early Childhood Education, or a related field. Requires a minimum of two (2) years of full-time equivalent experience in the areas of interagency collaboration and family rights advocacy; knowledge of the principles, practices, and issues of early intervention, prevention, and day care services or closely related experience. Must obtain, within a prescribed period of time, and maintain State Part C Early Intervention Service Coordination Certification. Must successfully pass a Child Protective Services Check and a background check related to this position prior to an offer of employment or promotion. Must possess a valid driver's license and must have and maintain a satisfactory driving record based on the City of Hampton's criteria. This position is safety sensitive and is subject to testing for alcohol and controlled substances in accordance with the City's current substance abuse policy. Additional Requirements
