JOB PURPOSE:
Volunteer Coordinators are responsible for recruiting and training new volunteers, keeping a database of volunteer information and skills, matching volunteers to opportunities that suit their skills, keeping volunteers informed, and conveying the organization’s purpose to the public. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPSONSIBILIES (but are not limited to): 1.Recruiting, training, and supervising new volunteers 2.Collecting volunteer information, availability, and skills, and maintaining an up-to-date database 3.Using marketing tools such as outreach programs, e-mails, and volunteer databases 4.Keeping new and existing volunteers informed about the organization and volunteer opportunities 5.Matching volunteers to opportunities that suit their skills sets, and ensuring they understand their responsibilities and receive proper training 6.Organize training and lead on-the-job training. 7.Keep schedules and records of volunteer’s work 8.Preparing codes of conduct and operating procedures to uphold the organizations values 9.Ensuring the organizations purpose is conveyed to the public SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: Volunteer Coordinator use a variety of skills to complete their duties effectively, which can include: 1.Experience in volunteering and recruitment 2.Working knowledge of databases 3.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 4.Excelling organization and team building skills Volunteer Coordinator must have an Associate’s degree in Business Management, Human Resources or a related field.
