Harbor is seeking an IT Specialist to join our Toledo team! This position supports the technical needs of Harbor’s programs, and will assist users with both software and hardware related to those programs.
Position is full-time, 40 hours per week, and may require working occasional weekend depending on the needs of the agency.
Education/Experience/Other Requirements:
- Minimum of Associates degree required in the field of computer science or communications and CompTIA A+ certification or comparable. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Must be comfortable training staff either one on one or in classroom settings on technology software or equipment.
- Must demonstrate proficiency with Windows operating systems, Office 365 and Active Directory.
- Must be able to learn protocols quickly, follow directions, maintain confidentiality and be a team player with experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Experience with WordPress/Web Development helpful.
- Must be able to multitask, prioritize workload and be able to work well under stress and time pressure.
- Must be able to convey technical issues and material to a non-technical audience.
- Must have excellent written and interpersonal skills. Must have strong problem-solving skills.
- Must be patient, conscientious, self-motivated, independent and productive with very strong customer service skills.
- Must have transportation and be willing to use personal car for job related duties.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and show proof of personal auto insurance policy to be deemed insurable with Harbor’s vehicle insurance carrier.
Essential Job Competencies/Primary Duties:
- Ensures customer satisfaction by responding to incoming calls, emails and requests to the help desk. Provides support for such requests, including desktop, hardware, software, network, phone and application support.
- Assist staff with support of the Harbor website.
- Maintain accounts for Mitel phones.
- Assist in maintaining and deploying on-site hardware
- Ensures timely resolution to issues/requests by tracking work orders and keeping staff updated on the status of work order resolution.
- Trains Harbor staff on general IT items and the use of software and technology used at Harbor on an initial and ongoing basis, as needed.
- Assists in maintaining user accounts in Active Directory.
- Maintains understanding of Harbor’s business process workflows and the use of technology/software.
- Tests updates, customizations, and new releases of the software and technology used and supported at Harbor. Has a good understanding of Harbor’s network structure.
- Participates as an active member of the IT Team helping other team members as required.
- Keeps current with trends and developments related to essential job competencies and demonstrates continued growth.
