Land Acquisition and Development Vice President

Responsibilities
We are seeking a Vice President of Land to oversee Acquisition and Development. In this role, you will: Identify acquisition opportunities that align with division goals, including expansion into new markets. Manage the Land Acquisition Department, including operations, budgets, staff development, and oversight. Research, negotiate, purchase, and oversee development of new locations; develop market entry strategies. Hire and supervise consultants for land research and analysis. Prepare Land Committee packages and acquisition feasibility reports. Coordinate with legal counsel, consultants, and internal teams in acquisition efforts. Draft and negotiate legal documents such as letters of intent and purchase agreements. Conduct due diligence on potential acquisitions. Review contracts, easements, and partnership agreements related to land deals. Assess survey and title reports for liabilities. Act as liaison with city officials on zoning, platting, and development. Oversee land acquisition escrow and title work. Manage joint development agreements, municipal agreements, easements, and approvals necessary for land transactions. Qualifications
Education and Experience: BA/BS in Real Estate, Marketing, Finance, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field. Minimum of ten years' experience in land acquisition and development. Knowledge of reimbursement agreements, contracts, entitlement, engineering, planning, and zoning. Strong management skills, including team leadership, departmental operations, budgeting, and pro-forma management. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel for financial analysis and reporting. Ability to develop work plans, analyze financial documents, and prepare acquisition packages.
