Job Summary
The Lift Operator Supervisor is a frontline, extremely guest-related position. Primary duties include providing for the safe uphill transportation of guests and co-workers by assisting the Lift Operations Manager with supervising the daily operations of ski lifts and the team members that operate them.
Job Duties and Responsibilities Maintain and coach safety in the workplace. Ensure safe operation of lifts. Monitor weather conditions and general surroundings by inspecting all lifts and operators on a regular basis. Provide information to riders about resort facilities and local area. Be proficient with ski lift evacuation training exercise and actual ski lift evacuations, if necessary. Assist with daily openings and closings, including transportation for team members to work sites, preparation of ramps, and mazing. Provide superior and interactive service to guests by modeling the Crystal CLEAR Difference and coaching staff to do the same. Coach the proper technique for loading and unloading lifts and learn how to deal with special cases, such as children and handicapped skiers. Give verbal instructions to skiers on how to load and unload the lifts and be as friendly, helpful, and courteous as possible when doing so. At times give verbal warnings to skiers who do not abide by the Rules of Conduct in the loading and unloading areas as well as on the lift. Assist the Lift Operations Manager with the daily completion of reports, including daily lift logs, incident reports, and others, as needed. Responsible for the overall operation of the lift in which they are in charge. Supervise lift attendants, assuring they are carrying out their duties, i.e. shoveling, raking and ramp maintenance. Cover breaks on assigned lifts. Skillful resolve of problems arising from guests disobeying rules. Call for assistance with lift malfunction or guest difficulty situations. Job Specifications

Clear and concise verbal communication skills. Self-directed and able to maximize use of time, resources and technology. Able to analyze, interpret and present data in various formats. Familiarity with OSHA/ MIOSHA safety standards and basic labor practices. Skilled in the proper and safe use of all equipment, tools, products, and materials relating to the department. Maintain office, employee and company confidentiality at all times. Dependable and meets goals. Ability to downhill ski and/or snowboard. Understanding of and proficiency with alpine and lift operations. Exemplifies professional conduct and adherence to company Core Values. Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. Combination of education and experience that enables performance of all aspects of the position. Physical & Other Requirements:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. Able to effectively use personal protective equipment (PPE) with use of equipment emitting loud noises, high pressure mechanicals and some hazardous materials. Able to work any shift, weekends and holidays as schedule and weather dictate. Non-smoking candidates preferred.
