Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Race Manager, the On-Hill Event Crew facilitates races and events that happen on the mountain, including venue preparation, working the event, and teardown.
Job Duties and Responsibilities Meet department expectations including Great Service, Quality Programming and Safe Snow Sports. Complete daily Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and projects as assigned. Follow policies and procedures. Prepare start and finish areas for events/races. Install fencing and closures. Help set courses. Perform general course maintenance: slipping, shoveling, raking. Assist with timing of events, including set-up of equipment. Announce event results over PA system. Help with set-up of race communications and use communication equipment as needed during races and meets. Complete course dismantling after events/races. Responsible for the removal, storage and maintenance of equipment. Report and/or correct unsafe conditions regarding equipment, venue, or elsewhere on the mountain. Promote work area cleanliness. Ability to navigate intermediate and occasionally advanced terrain on skis or snowboard, often while carrying equipment. Clear and concise verbal communication skills. Ability to work in all weather conditions. Accurate data entry. Timely and dependable. Exemplifies professional conduct and adherence to company Core Values. Education:
High School diploma or equivalent. Physical & Other Requirements:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. Able to work any shift, weekends and holidays as schedule and weather dictates. Evenings, weekends and holidays are a regular part of the schedule. Must have excellent attendance and conduct record for consideration. Non-smoking candidates preferred.
