Leidos is seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth within our Airborne Solutions Business Area (ASBA), focusing on our portfolio of airborne manned and unmanned programs.
This role involves actively identifying and developing new business opportunities, managing program captures and proposals, and strategic planning. The ideal candidate will collaborate with the ASBA team and senior leadership to implement program strategies, conduct program reviews, manage investment funds, and foster strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
A successful candidate will have a solid background in business development within the Defense Industry, particularly with full life cycle programs and a strong emphasis on airborne systems, including development, sustainment, and operations.
Primary Responsibilities:
Craft and implement broad strategic plans for the organization.
Identify and qualify lucrative business opportunities.
Collaborate with technical and line management to highlight programmatic strengths and technology differentiators for successful captures.
Work closely with the ASBA team to create and execute comprehensive capture plans throughout the business development lifecycle.
Engage in marketing initiatives and events, like trade shows, that support our capture strategies.
Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree with 12+ years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with 10+ years of experience (additional experience considered in lieu of a degree).
Active TS Clearance required.
Extensive experience in the Department of Defense (DoD), particularly in business development roles supporting manned and unmanned aerial programs.
Proven experience in capture and proposal management, ideally for aviation-related programs exceeding $50M in value.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Established relationships in the manned and unmanned aerial systems sector.
Business development experience with the DoD and International Partners.
Formal training in capture and proposal writing is desirable.
Experience managing marketing and bid proposal budgets.
Ability to interface effectively across all organizational levels, including executive interactions.
Knowledge in program management, planning, execution, and systems engineering.

Pay Range:
