Classification Title: Grants Assistant I FLSA: Non-Exempt FTE: 1.00 Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent
Responsibilities
Assembles sub-award and subcontract packages in compliance with federal, state, sponsor rules, and UGA policies. Initiates sub-awards/subcontracts on behalf of the University and the Research Foundation; issues to subrecipients for signature. Prepare and record modifications to sub-awards/subcontracts, including re-budgets and No Cost Extensions; process amendments as needed. Record and encumber sub-awards/subcontracts and amendments in the Grants Portal and UGAMart. Manage the central email account for Sponsored Projects Pre-Award; perform other duties as assigned. Obtain compliance approvals for awards and modifications; create cover pages for UGARF awards.
Qualifications
Grants Assistant I: under close supervision, communicate with faculty, unit, and sponsors following supervisor guidance; high level of supervision for communications. Grants Assistant II: under moderate to low supervision, begin independent communications with faculty, unit, and sponsors. All Grants Assistants: attention to detail, strong computer skills, high-volume data entry, and ability to establish effective working relationships; strong communication skills with PIs and university personnel.
