The Sheraton San Diego Resort is a downtown waterfront resort that offers you breathtaking views of downtown San Diego and the San Diego Bay. Work Hours Will be required to work flexible scheduled shifts based on business needs. Scheduling may include holidays, nights, overnights, and weekends depending on travel and trade show schedules and hotel events. The salary range for this position is: $90,000 to 110,000 annually. This position is bonus eligible.
Job Summary
The Senior Sales Executive will be responsible for identifying and soliciting qualified target accounts and nurturing existing accounts to close all qualified group businesses to achieve/exceed individual sales goals (RNs, ADR, revenue, and F&B). This manager will execute all sales-related activities from outside calls, sales trips/trade shows, sites, entertainment, Fam trips, etc. for their territory/market. Building strong, trusting, long-lasting client, GSO, and peer relationships is a must. Highlighting the repositioning of the $85M resort transformation should filter through every aspect of this critical sales role. Senior Sales Manager must understand their financial part in the overall revenue goal and success of the hotel.
Job Requirements
Must have excellent hospitality sales skills from rapport building to closing business to following up to close their next group meeting. Must be able to identify client's primary buying criteria and personal goals quickly and accurately; then be able to sell to those needs. Must be creative in client approach, creating proposals, planning and conducting wow sites inspections, and closing/stealing business. Must possess excellent communication, follow-up, and organizational skills. Sets high personal performance standards and enjoys keeping track of individual and team progress toward goals. Must be proactive and have a creative, positive, and focused Understand the mission, vision, and goals of the hotel. Maintaining confidentiality and sensitive information is a Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Strong leadership skills and the ability to apply them in a dynamic environment. Establish various goals and objectives for their market. Well organized, focused, and complete all work assigned. Work cohesively with co-workers and all departments as part of a team. Build morale and promote positive employee engagement. Follow all appropriate policies and procedures while constantly striving to improve standards of operations. Ability to read, comprehend, and write instructions, correspondence, reports, and memos. Ability to communicate verbally and electronically with clients, guests, corporate office, and co-workers Ability to effectively present information to clients, guests, corporate office, and co-workers Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to understand guest service needs. Essential Job Duties
Meet or exceed established monthly, quarterly, and annual targeted sales goals. Maintain an active list of target accounts to ensure continuous relationship development. Establishes new client relationships and maintains existing relationships to maximize revenue. Actively solicits new business opportunities through prospecting target client lists. Seeks methods to penetrate key business activities within the market and finds profitable ways to bring this business to the hotel. Actively participates in industry-related organizations. Attends trade shows, community events, and industry meetings to develop business. Respond promptly to incoming group sales opportunities that are within pre-defined parameters. Work collaboratively with other sales channels (e.g. on-property resources) to ensure sales efforts are coordinated, complementary, and not duplicative. Understand the overall market - competitors' strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand, etc., and how to sell against them. Capture and close the best opportunities for the property based on market conditions, the property's needs, and within the hotel parameters. Execute and support the operational aspects of business booked. Transfer accurate, complete, and timely information to the Events department in accordance with hotel and brand standards. Promote accountability to drive superior business results. Includes successful execution of sales strategies and business processes. Effectively resolve guest issues that arise as a result of the sales process. Bring issues to the attention of the property and sales leadership team as appropriate. Serves as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behaviors. Informs and/or updates the executives, peers, and subordinates on relevant information promptly. Fosters open channels of communication between all employees. Participates in the performance appraisal system process, giving feedback when needed. Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among associates. Follow all additional duties as assigned by management.
