Job Description
A global chemical manufacturing company is seeking an experienced
Senior Electrical Reliability Engineer
to lead power-distribution reliability and safety initiatives across a large, continuous-process facility. This role ensures safe, reliable, and cost-efficient plant operations while driving long-term improvements in electrical infrastructure and equipment performance.
Key Responsibilities Provide technical coverage for
low, medium, and high-voltage electrical systems , including switchgear, transformers, motor control centers, VFDs, UPS, and DC systems. Own and update
single-line electrical drawings , electrical coordination studies, and site electrical safety procedures. Lead
arc-flash analysis
and implement design changes to reduce risk and improve personnel safety. Develop and manage
multi-year capital project plans
to enhance plant electrical infrastructure. Support new installations through design reviews, commissioning plans, acceptance testing, and reliability analysis. Partner with Maintenance and Project Engineering to ensure new assets meet life-cycle reliability standards. Drive continuous improvement through predictive testing, root-cause failure analysis, and reliability tracking programs. Provide technical guidance for equipment specifications, preventive maintenance programs, and vendor evaluations. Remain available for
24/7 support
during plant outages or emergencies. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
required; Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred. 10+ years
of electrical engineering experience in chemical, petrochemical, or oil & gas refining environments. Expertise in
power distribution
(low/medium/high voltage), switchgear, motor control, and electrical safety. Proven experience with
arc-flash analysis
and compliance with
NFPA 70, 70E, and 70B
standards. Familiarity with predictive maintenance technologies, SAP or similar maintenance programs, and capital project support. TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) or ability to obtain. Strong communication skills and the ability to mentor junior engineers.
