Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 15-week ICU night shift contract requiring cardiac rhythm and ventilator management skills at a Level III Trauma Center.
Responsibilities Work in a hospital ICU with a total of 16 ICU beds Care for patients including respiratory failure, ESRD, AKI, COPD, GI bleeds, DKA, sepsis, post-op, CVA, ETOH, and overdoses ICU patient ratios are 1:1 or 1:2 based on acuity, PCU ratios are 1:4; may take PCU assignments within the ICU Uses EPIC charting system, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing Required to work 12-hour night shifts on a 36-hour work week Expected to float to ED overflow, PCU, or Covington as needed Weekend rotation required every other weekend Job includes management of critically ill adults with complex medical conditions No craniotomies, major traumas, or major cardiothoracic cases assigned Level III Trauma Center with 131 beds, flexible up to 156 Scrubs of any color allowed with the exception of camouflage First time travelers are welcome Weekend and floating requirements apply
Requirements Active WA or compact RN license Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required; CCRN preferred Demonstrated proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation, telemetry monitoring, ventilator/trach/BiPAP management, invasive line management, ostomy, and chest tubes Competence with IV medication titration and use of EPIC for charting Experience with Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis is required
