Responsible for day-to-day production of one or more departments, supervising, motivating and supporting employees daily, applying a team approach and maintaining open communication. Oversees assigned production activities to ensure overall quality and to ensure manufacturing processes run smoothly and cost-effectively, delivering products on time.
Prime Responsibilities and Major Factors in Evaluating Performance:
1.Supports manufacturing schedules as required, meeting customer commitments and on-time deliveries.
2.Coordinates and manages the manufacturing efforts of multiple departments, which may include but is not limited to any of the following: wax operations, shell production, casting, pre-finishing, finishing operations and shipping with a dedication to synchronous flow of product.
3.Supports programs to meet all cost and safety goals.
4.Maintains all department costs within budget.
5.Manages the effectiveness of the production supervisory team, driving initiatives to maintain efficient production of a variety of investment castings.
6.Responsible for developing and maintaining a variety of performance measures.
7.Conducts performance appraisals of subordinates and provides guidance on career development and growth.
8.Ensures compliance with Company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.
9.Forecasts labor requirements, recommended equipment or layout changes, production methods or material-handling procedures.
10.Maintains balanced work load in all cost centers and with minimum inventory levels.
11.Ensures that all activities and operations are performed in compliance with the Company's Code of Conduct.
Additional Responsibilities: 1.Performs other duties as assigned.
2.May be required to participate in cost saving activities including, Safety Initiatives, 6-S Initiatives, Kaizen Events and/or Overall Productivity Improvement Events.
3.Must maintain a serious bias for cost reduction.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:
1. Candidate must have an Associate's Degree in a technical or business-related discipline and 5-7 years of related manufacturing experience. A Bachelor's Degree will further enhance ability to achieve requirements. 2. Previous experience working in the investment castings industry is required. 3. Previous experience working in a supervisory or management role is also required.
