Job Summary
This position is located in the Department of Employment Services, Operations bureau, Office of Administrative Services. The mission of DOES is to connect District residents, job seekers, and employers to opportunities and resources that empower fair, safe, effective working communities.
This position description depicts generalized duties and responsibilities required of a position with the primary responsibility for assisting senior personnel with support services functions and/or for handling routine work of the organization independently.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provides a variety of support services that are essential to the efficient accomplishment of the work of the department, or office within the Agency. These include but are not limited to such services as space management, safety management, property management, records management, supply management, mail service, facilities and equipment maintenance, and transportation.
Participates in revising, recommending and implementing Departmental policies, procedures and guidelines to satisfy the goals of the department or agency. Devises a means of improvement and consolidates and/or standardizes administrative forms or procedures. Coordinates, monitors and evaluates the Department's administrative systems that cover communication/message processing, mail operations, duplicating services, supply management, program developmental needs, and physical moves/relocations of personnel, furniture or equipment.
Qualifications and Education
Specialized experience: this position requires one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lowest grade level (e.g., if the position is a grade 9, the next lowest grade is grade 7 or equivalent) in the District of Columbia government.

None.
Working Conditions/Environment
The work is performed in a normal office setting.

Collective Bargaining Unit: This
position is in the collective bargaining unit represented by AFGE Local 1000 and you may be required to pay an agency service fee (dues) through direct payroll deduction.
Position Designation:
This position has been designated as safety sensitive therefore the incumbent of this position will be subject to enhanced suitability screening pursuant to Chapter 4 of DC Personnel Regulations, Suitability and as such, incumbents of this position shall be subject to criminalbackground checks, background investigations, and mandatory drug and alcohol testing, as applicable.
