Oversees day-to-day clinical operations in the outpatient primary care setting to ensure safe, high-quality care for patients across the lifespan.
Responsibilities
Provides clinical supervision and guidance to nursing staff. Leads nursing team meetings. Coordinates staff education, including in-service training and ongoing competency development. Participates in outpatient-focused, clinically oriented committees and projects as needed. Develops staffing plans and manages daily schedules to ensure adequate coverage across the primary care practice. Monitors patient flow, appointment efficiency, and overall clinical practice operations; identifies and implements process improvements. Collects, analyzes, and reports on clinical and operational metrics to support continuous performance improvement (PI) within the practice. Collaborates on practice budget planning and monitors fiscal performance; identifies opportunities for cost-efficiency and improved resource utilization. Participates in the recruitment, orientation, performance evaluation, and disciplinary process for nursing staff. Ensures staff meet required competencies and complete mandatory education in areas such as infection control, safety, risk management, and customer service. Supports a culture of learning, mentoring, and professional growth within the outpatient nursing care team. Participates in continuous quality improvement efforts by identifying care delivery issues and implementing evidence-based solutions. • Investigates patient and staff incidents; ensures follow-up and compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., DOH, Joint Commission, VFC). Maintains accurate and timely documentation and reports in compliance with administrative, clinical, and regulatory requirements. Communicates key organizational updates and strategic priorities to outpatient nursing staff. • Actively participates in cross-functional teams and projects to enhance outpatient service delivery and patient satisfaction. Education:

Active RN license in NYS. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required. Master's Degree in Nursing preferred. Experience:
Minimum 3-5 years of nursing leadership experience in an outpatient or ambulatory primary care setting. Experience working with both adult and pediatric patient populations. Knowledge of Article 28 regulations, Joint Commission Standards, Value Based Care, DOH regulations, and Vaccines for Children (VFC) program. Skills:
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Clinical expertise in primary care and chronic disease management. Proficient in analyzing data and solving clinical/operational problems. Competent in EMR systems and regulatory compliance. Commitment to team collaboration and high-quality patient care.
Pay Range
