What to Expect
As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational availability of a wide array of manufacturing equipment.You will apply your technical skills to install, maintain and repair electrical systems, instrumentation, and automation. This is a 24-hour facility so being on call is expected or working shift. Tesla's Equipment Maintenance is also the first-responding problem solvers who manage machine breakdown recoveries to keep production running. What You'll Do
Support day to day process automation activities at the plant such as making program changes to improve asset capability, assist in troubleshooting control system problems, adding simple capabilities, etc.
Use troubleshooting techniques to identify root cause of problem in process control code, operator interface or hardware and effectively resolve these problems with stakeholders' input
Drive the reduction of nuisance alarms, active alarms, and I/O-in-manual
Coordinate with Process Control expertise group to perform needed updates to the process control hardware and software Use working knowledge of process control hardware to perform troubleshooting and implement solutions Utilize skills in SCADA & HMI systems, such as Ignition, WinCC, and PanelView Utilize skills in PLC Languages, such as Omron, Allen Bradley & Siemens What You'll Bring
Minimum of five years of Controls Technician experience in a high-volume manufacturing/industrial environment or applicable technical certificate/degree, or equivalent experience
Advanced computer skills, able to use job-specific PC applications and coach other users
Electrical knowledge and advanced skills with a voltmeter to check AC/DC voltage, able to diagnose issues, able to use a schematic diagram to troubleshoot electrical systems
Proficient with pneumatics-solenoid valves, actuator and control operations and can read schematics
Experience building process & instrumentation diagrams, developing process control narratives, and building I/O lists for greenfield or brownfield capital projects, and working closely with process engineers to design and implement control systems to ensure safe and efficient operation of complex chemical process systems
Ability to work off-hours, as needed
Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal
Essential Physical Requirements: Must be comfortable working in tight spaces Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods throughout the day Must be capable of bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing ladders, and lying on the ground intermittently Must be willing to wear a fall protection harness while working from heights or in a suspended position Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs Must be able to utilize hand tools and power tools as needed
