Job Description
The Quality Engineer will be responsible for:
Support production teams to ensure quality standards are met across manufacturing processes Plan and perform product inspections and testing to verify conformance to specifications Lead or assist in internal audits, validations, and compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO9001, AS9100, ISO13485) Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions using tools like 8D, 5 Whys, and Fishbone diagrams Monitor and report on quality performance metrics and KPIs Lead or support the development of quality documentation, including control plans, FMEAs, and process flow diagrams Conduct and support PPAP, Gage R&R, MSA, and process validation activities Interface with engineering, production, vendors, and customers to resolve quality issues Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, scrap, and process variation Maintain training records and help train staff on quality procedures Manage and document quality system audits, non-conformances, and follow-up actions Ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements and company quality objectives MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. The Successful Applicant
The successful applicant will have:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field (preferred) 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or quality-focused environment Familiarity with quality standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100, and/or ISO 13485 Experience with audits, process validations, and regulatory compliance Knowledge of quality tools and methodologies (8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.) Hands-on experience with PPAP, FMEA, control plans, and Gage R&R / MSA Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications Proficiency in creating and using spreadsheets or quality databases Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision CQE certification and cGMP experience are a plus but not required What's on Offer
