JOB TITLE:

Maintenance/Custodial Sub

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:

Director of Maintenance/Chief Operating Officer

QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma, G.E.D. Certificate Pass health examination Have no immoral or criminal history Have ability to work with other staff members and with children Have a valid Kentucky driver's license Ability to perform tasks that require heavy lifting DUTIES:

Perform maintenance, repair and construction of District buildings and equipment in one or more of the maintenance trades, including electronics, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, locksmithing or welding; perform duties under close supervision Assist in the construction, installation and maintenance of roofs, furniture, fences, playground equipment, cabinets, shelving, chalkboards and bulletin boards; weld and braze in the repair and construction of equipment, machinery and fencing Assist in the installation, repair and maintenance of gas and water lines, heating and cooling equipment, electrical outlets and irrigation system components Assist in the installation, repair and replacement of carpet, floor and ceiling tiles, doors, glass, locks and closures; repair blinds and shades; install dispensers and repair or install bathroom stalls Prepare surfaces for painting, mix paints, finishes and other coatings and apply to equipment, buildings, furniture and District facility structures Operate a wide variety of tools and equipment used in the maintenance trades Perform daily office cleaning and other areas of the building as directed. Clean restrooms thoroughly and as frequently as directed or as needed. Remove trash and waste from building Observe and correct or report safety or health hazards Spot clean doors, floors, walls, desks, glass and equipment as needed or as scheduled

Clean grounds as needed or directed Lock or unlock buildings, secure all windows and other openings as required Receive and store supplies, order as needed Dust mop all corridors three times daily, clean entrances, entrance mats and steps daily or more often as needed Operate heating plant (if instructed to do so) in an efficient and safe manner, and keep mechanical room and equipment clean and in good condition Remove snow and ice from walks, steps and loading areas Store and care for all equipment Display and retrieve American Flag in proper manner Other duties as assigned by Director of Maintenance/Chief Operating Officer
